In addition to trapping and banding raptors, staff and volunteers at CGORS count every raptor migrating south over the station from roughly August 15 to November 15. The data is entered into the Hawk Migration Association of North America’s database, HawkCount. Click the “Migration Timing” tab on that page to see when various species historically migrate past our station. CGORS is in the process of transferring the rest of our historical data to the Hawk Migration Association of North America for use in the Raptor Population Index.
